It seems to be 'de rigueur' to include a bunch of links into each website so here are a few which qualify because I like them, and that's good enough for me!

Please report any discontinued URLs and I will axe them immediately!

  • HTML Goodies - Joe Burns. - This is an excellent HTML tutorial from Joe Burns. It covers everything from the beginner's first steps to advanced use of Javascript, CGI scripting, DHTML (whatever that is!) and so on. I was well impressed - in fact I bought the book 'HTML Goodies' (highly recommended to anyone interested in web authoring).

  • ANFY - Java applets for the web. - Have a look at Anfy - a downloadable application which does really clever things with graphics allowing you to incorporate the results in your webpages (see 'Anderton Boat Lift' in Gallery 3 on this site) or create screensavers with your own images incorporating a variety of effects. Try it -its FREE!

  • MAGIC BUTTONS - mouseover effects tutorial - Whatever you want to do with Javascript 'rollover' (or 'mouseover') on your webpages - this is the site to look at. Joe Barta's excellent tutorial (which can be downloaded as a zip file) gets top marks for clarity and for making a difficult subject easy to understand. It's so good I might send him a quid when I get seriously rich!

  • BILL SCHWAB PHOTOGRAPHY - Superb photography and wonderful web page design. I saw his site mentioned in a photography magazine which I found in a dentist's waiting room! When I got chance I looked in. I asked him if he designed his own pages - he does ..... it's all a bit disheartening really!

  • WEST WALES PHOTO ALBUM - Lots of photos (over 200 at last count) of a wonderful part of Britain. It's not exactly a 'killer' Website, but the photos are worth a look (I wonder if they would use some of mine!).

  • ON LINE - the Northwich 8E magazine - The 8E Association is a small group of UK railway enthusiasts from Northwich, Cheshire. They have an 'e-zine' which I inflicted upon them (they were quite pleased really) - have a look at the photos if you like the steam scene. I update the pages when time permits. Other UK railway links are included.

  • "Jack's Snaps" - Jack Carr's website - Jack Carr is my son (11) who loves railways, Harry Potter stories and peanut butter. He takes photos whenever he is on holiday or visiting his favourite steam railways. I put this site together so that Jack could exhibit his photos to the world (and impress his friends).

  • "Dyffryn Nantlle - a landscape of neglect" - This is my modest photo essay of the abandoned slate quarries of the Nantlle Vale, near Caernarfon, North Wales. The book can be purchased at a ridiculous price - I have sold 1300 copies and made NO profit! And to think I could have been rich. Don't feel sorry for me, just grab your copy before I run out.
